Overview
These terms govern use of the ShopMate website and the ShopMate apps for iOS and Android. ShopMate is provided by JV Technologies LLC to help users scan grocery receipts, review detected items, and maintain selected grocery spending records.
Responsible Use
You agree to use ShopMate lawfully and responsibly, including by reviewing receipt-derived items before saving them and by avoiding false, altered, misleading, or abusive submissions.
Community Records
Product, price, vendor, store, review, report, and related submissions should be accurate to the best of your knowledge and should not expose another person's personal information without permission.
Your Contributions
When you submit a price, a product, a store, a review, or a photo to ShopMate, you keep ownership of it. You grant JV Technologies LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to store, display, reproduce, adapt, and distribute that contribution as part of the ShopMate service and its shared price catalog, including in de-identified and aggregated form.
This licence continues after you delete your account. Deleting your account removes your personal information and detaches your identity from what you contributed, but the contributions themselves remain in the shared catalog — other shoppers' price comparisons depend on them, and removing them would degrade the service for everyone who relied on that data.
Only submit content you have the right to submit. Do not submit content that infringes anyone's rights, and remove other people's personal information from receipts and photos before submitting them.
No Guaranteed Outcomes
ShopMate provides grocery tracking tools and records. It does not promise specific savings, financial outcomes, retailer availability, or perfect receipt detection.
Accounts and Deletion
You are responsible for activity under your account. You can delete your account in the app from Settings > Delete Account, or contact support if you need help.
Privacy
ShopMate's privacy practices are described in the Privacy Policy. The receipt scanning flow is designed around on-device processing and review before saving selected records.
